Reading Rules
Every reading room posts its rules by the door. These are ours, and they cover every serial on the map.
The authors
- The sixteen are adults of invention, between 20 and 55, who do adult work and live adult lives; none is ever written younger than she is.
- No character plays a relative of yours, every premise has everyone's consent, and none is patterned on a real individual.
- Her limits are printed on her page, and she holds to them.
The readers
- You must be 18 or over.
- Text that describes or hints at a minor in any romantic or sexual setting is refused, and the account may be closed for it, with no exceptions and no clever framing.
- Stories built on force, on a real individual's private life, or on hurting somebody are stopped, whatever scene they are dressed in.
- If you write about harming yourself, she sets the story down for a moment to point you toward real help. Please take it.
The chapter
Explicit material never appears: the chat fades to black first, which is a rule of the site rather than of any plan. The editor, the lawyer and the critic in these serials are characters, so none of them offers true legal, medical or money advice, and they will tell you so. When it matters, find a real professional.
